This is a great book. I got it for my dad for his birthday & he absolutely loves it. The contents are very rye opening for those who want to know more about the civil war & that time period
I have many good books (no fiction) of this time in our history, and this one is my favorite thus far...
Ordered this as a gift to myself, and was very excited to receive! Have not read it yet, as it has to go under the tree, but so far it arrived in great condition and as described. Shipping took longer than expected, but it is the holiday season and it arrived in time.
This is a great book for any reader. if you like history it is a must read. If you like Stonewall Jackson its a must have!!
So well done & a perfect tribute to a devoted Christian, dedicated soldier, loving husband & father. Finest tactician of the Civil War!!!
VERY disappointed in the quality of this product.
We bought this book as a Christmas gift for a family member who loves learning about the Civil War, particularly Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee. She began reading it a little after the holidays, imagine our surprise when she showed us how she couldn't read the book because of all of the horribly copied pages, sentences which were never printed to completion, and undecipherable words due to the gaps of printing in the words themselves (see pictures of pages in the customer submitted images section).
The book itself received good reviews from other sites, so I must conclude that the either the publisher changed or else they decided to cut corners. I wish we could give a positive review of this book given the subject matter - I'm sure it would have been interesting.....if we could have only read the pages....
For those you that remember life before laser copiers will like this book. (Nor really). It is unreadable. The typeface is awful and the ink on paper is blotchy. You can download the PDF for free from Eastern Carolina University. Download is free and condition excellent.
